I finally got to the bottom of the boxes and emptied the pallet. What to do now with all the scrap wood? Found a nice place to build some large shelves to store the raw parts and material. Cut up the top/bottom into six 40"x48" shelves. Used the 2x4's from the skid and the 1x2 strips to make shelf supports and the end frame on the right. Used the screws from the pallet disassembly to screw it all together. Used some of the cardboard from the empty boxes to close the open end on the right to keep the parts from falling off. Used more of the cardboard and packing paper for "shelf liner" and padding the layered parts. There are 1x2 vertical spacers at the back center between shelves for mid span support. I'll add a notched 2x4 at the front center for support there. I expect the shelves will sag with time, but I hope they are empty by then. Image one shows the start of the parts storage.
